I love cooking in my new dutch oven. I used it for the first time this last weekend on my camping trip. I made a pot roast one night for dinner. The next morning for breakfast I baked biscuits. It cleans up easily with a vingar/water spray. However, I need to purchase a larger dutch oven.

Even though this is a camp dutch oven, I couldn't wait to use it and so tried it in my regular kitchen oven. We live in the COLD northeast and I just didn't feel like braving the elements....
It was easy to put in the regular oven. Just put the feet right through your rack. It sat there very sturdy.
Terrific results! I used a recipe that came in the recipe book that was included. Chicken and rice. My whole family loved it.
The DO was easy to clean. I just rinsed it in hot water with minimal scrubbing. Dried with a towel, and set it in my still warm oven to make sure it was competely dry. After about 20 minutes drying-time I wiped it with some Pam.
This size was perfect for my family of four. I originally wanted to get a 12" DO, because it seems that most recipes call for this size. Now I'm not sure I want to go any bigger (and heavier) for camping. I don't NEED the extra room for more food, and you can't easily store leftovers while camping. If my family was larger, or I had two teenage boys instead of 2 little girls the 12" would probably be appropriate.....
However....I loved this DO so much, I'll probably eventually get the 12" so that I can use two at a time. Main meal in one...dessert in another....
This is the third Lodge cast iron piece I have tried in the last week and I have to say that I am completely impressed. I wish I would have discovered cast iron sooner.
Looking forward to using it tent camping this summer.

great on our wood stove fits perfectly. I would recommend this pot for both woodstove and outdoor cooking. The top makes great biscuits or cornbread

This is A great piece to take camping. You can find thousands of free recipies on the internet or create your own.Ez to clean with A stiff brush and water.
