Hard to find a good skillet without a glass cover. Glass covers tend to create too much moisture inside causing splash when openning

i bought this as a gift for my dad at Christmas. He has used it every week for at least two to three meals a week. He says it cooks evenly, the non-stick coating eliminates the need for butter or oil, and clean up is so easy! When it's time to replace mine - I'll definitely purchase from Presto's line.

I was expecting this skillet to be more heavy duty. It heats higher where the coil is, so frying is uneven. If it had a thicker base I don't think that would happen. It also cycles on and off I suppose to maintain a certain temperature. But I would prefer a constant temp. This is the first electric skillet I've owned so maybe my expectations were too high or maybe I should get a more expensive one. Who knows? So I just use it for things like browning large quantities of ground meat, or veggies, or something with a lot of sauce. I'll continue to use it, but I wouldn't buy another one like this.

This is one of the kitchen items that my wife just can not be without. She has totally worn out the one she owns now. This is the 5th one she has worn out!!This particular unit is the only one that we have found that has the high dome lid that makes it easy to use larger items in the skillet.
She wanted it replaced but that being said I could not get it for Brithday or Christmas. Long story short, on our first anniversay it was told to all those concerned that no appliances of anykind would be given as gifts for birthday or Christmas. This year she got an inbetween gift...this skillet. (nice move on her part)
Again could not find it in any of the local stores...after I did order it I did find it at Boscov's but the Amazon price was cheaper and with the no shipping charge it was a no brainer.
