I bought this to replace the one in my set that I forgot on stove and it burned and I ruined it! I had it for about twenty years so it shows how good Revere Ware is!

5Excellent Pan (does not include lid)  May 11, 2008
I've been using Revere saucepans since 1976. This 3-qt is an excellent pan that I would recommend to anyone. It does not come with a lid but the lid from the Revere 2-qt saucepan fits perfectly.

This pan works great for cooking 1/2 pkg of pasta where you would have to use a 4-qt pan to cook the entire pkg.

For those of you with electric stove tops TAKE NOTE:

Like the 2-qt saucepan, this 3-qt pan is flat on the bottom and overlaps a 6-inch electric coil enough to completely cover the coil and cook efficiently. This combination is a perfect match!

The Revere 4-qt pan that I bought several years ago is not flat on the bottom (most of the middle of the pan bottom is indented). The 4-qt pan is wide enough that it really needs to be used on an 8-inch electric coil (which it barely fits - no overlap). This is not as efficient for cooking because there is no overlap of the coil and a majority of the 4-qt pan's bottom does not directly contact the coil.

Also, the 1-qt Revere saucepan, though flat on the bottom, is not wide enough to cover a 6-inch electric coil so it does not make for efficient cooking with this combination.

If part of the electric coil is exposed while cooking then you not only waste heat/energy but you may have a safety issue!
