The VERY Best for camping May 26, 2009 The reviewer who said it took 45 minutes must not have turned up their stove. This makes me a nice full pot in under 15 minutes. Makes great coffee and is well well worth the indulgence for anyone who drinks coffee every morning.
Warning if you are not exactly level you want to duck tape the top shut

Love It! Apr 26, 2009 No more coffee grounds in my camping coffee! Yeah! Granted, this isn't the fastest coffee maker on the plant but hey, it's got dripus interuptus! That means that you can turn it on, head to the bathroom and by the time you return (now I know you aren't suppose to leave it unattended) you can get a cup out of it and let it continue to brew. We haven't timed it but we don't think it takes 45 minutes like some people have claimed. Maybe 30 minutes but like I mentioned, you can stop it at anytime and get your cup. We have been very careful with the handle as many users have mentioned that it would melt. This will make your camping experience so much more civilized.

love it Mar 22, 2009 i've tried alot of ways to brew coffee while camping this is the tops.
it is also great when you lose your power. I'm never without my coffee. i find it a easy clean up. the trick for not melting the handle is to have it pointing straight out. i had my for about four years. I love it.

Heaven sent for group camping Nov 30, 2008 Does what it's designed to do. It makes great coffee at your campsite.
It brews fast (ten minutes) on a Coleman stove that's protected by a windscreen.
However, my pot once took 45 minutes to finish on a mismatched burner/grill setup.
One windy morning, brewing didn't even start until I improvised extensive wind protection.
Once you get the setup right, you'll be delighted with the results.
As other reviews note, you must keep the pot handle centered.
I pour the brew into a pump Thermos dispenser so others don't touch the carafe.
"Roughing it" once meant enduring percolated coffee.
Thank you Coleman for your gift to outdoor Java Joes.

Coleman Camping Coffeemaker Oct 14, 2008 Coleman 5008C700T Camping Coffeemaker, Black I have been using the Coleman Camping Coffeemaker for several years, now. It has held-up well, despite the glass carafe, and does not look any different now than it did when I bought it.
The Coleman Coffeemaker works just like any home drip system, with several small differences;
1. It is slower - even with a hot camp stove, don't expect to be sipping a cup-of-joe in less than 15 minutes.
2. There is no visible gauge on the reservoir. You have to measure the water using the carafe, adding an extra cup to account for evaporation.
I have recommended the Coleman Coffeemaker to several friends, and they have also been happy with it. Note that it does take a fairly hot stove (~10,000 BTU) to work well, and the stove needs a nice wide surface for the coffeemaker to sit on; it will not work with a smaller round-burner stove.
