Great Coffeemaker for the Money Feb 13, 2010 This coffeemaker comes with everything you need except the coffee. It has a permanent filter and a coffee scoop. It is programmable and you can adjust the coffee brew strength. It just makes the best coffee!
This is the second one I bought... I took my first one to work so I can have coffee anytime I want it.
The only two things that could be better is you have to be careful pouring or you will make a mess. And the one I just bought, the carafe only has cup markings on the side for left handed people (which is a bit annoying). My first one has the markings on both sides, so this may just be an unintentional defect.
Average coffeemaker Apr 13, 2009 I bought one of these two years ago. It has served me well, with a couple of exceptions. (1) The clock - has no battery backup. If you lose power, you have to reset the clock. (2) A MUCH more major issue is the unit's annoying "feature" that turns itself off in 2 hours. This may be an attractive feature for some, and at first two hours sounded like a long time. In the end, though, I found I would have maybe 2 cups of hot coffee before it would turn itself off. I'd end up having to nuke the remaining cups.

Good value Mar 26, 2009 A few days ago, I received 2 of these coffeemakers to replace the large and cumbersome coffeemakers that I had been using. I make both regular and decaf coffee daily, which I then put into thermos carafes. I like the fact that the coffee is very hot and the coffeemakers are light and easy to move around. I have not had them scoot on the countertop when pushing the buttons (as another reviewer reported). I have not had the coffee spill when pouring.
Another reviewer also complained about the dimness of the clock face -- but I prefer it to be dim. It is very visible when I need it, but do not depend on it as a clock (I have other clocks). I find the glaring red numbers on other coffeemakers to be very annoying.
Another plus is that when I remove the coffee basket, there is no puddle of liquid under the filter (as my other maker was wont to do). I prefer paper filters, rather than the permanent filter and they work well in the basket.
The only drawback I have found is that the water reservoir is difficult to fill without spillage (but I circumvent that by using a 1 liter measure to fill, rather than trying to pour from the pot). Other than that I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Proctor-Silex 48574 Automatic Drip Coffeemaker Dec 30, 2008 It makes coffee. I am not a coffee expert but I have tasted better brewed coffee. Since buying this coffeemaker I have discovered I like the cone shaped filters better than the flat bottomed bowl shaped filter that this coffeemaker uses. It is an OK coffeemaker. It still is working after a year and for the price that is good.

Excellent Except for>>>> Nov 24, 2008 We love this coffee maker. It makes VERY HOT coffee which we have found not to be the case with most of drip type coffee makers. It brews delicious coffee as well. The only thing that I would improve is the ability to fill with water before brewing. The space is designed in a way that it is near impossible not to spill some water when filling. There just isnt enough space to pour. Otherwise its a great product.
