The Best Travel Mug Ever Mar 17, 2010 Doesn't leak, doesn't break when dropped, drink stays hot for hours. You can't ask for more. We now own three and have thrown out all other travel containers.

Cook's Illustrated, 2006 Oct 01, 2009 America's Test Kitchen, associated with Cook's Illustrated, rated this as top out of 12 in November, 2006. Thermos has newer models out now.

Worth the price Aug 02, 2009 Cheaper travel mugs can certainly be found out there, but this one has several features not common in most I tried.
Namely the ability to sip from any part of the rim (that's the 360* business.) Most mugs have a button, or flip top but one must pick up the mug and pay attention to where to sip from. Possibly difficult while driving. With this mug, just unscrew it a bit (there's a marking on the lid) and sip away. Also, when closed, the seal is quite strong. I've knocked it over (while half-full) on the seat of the car one day when arriving at work, and come out in the evening to find it hadn't leaked even one drop.
As for its ability to keep drinks warm or cold, I'd say it's as good as the rest. I've never used it to keep something cold, but it gets frequent use for hot coffee. From my experience, a mugfull of hot coffee will still be warm enough for me to consider "drinkable" for at least two hours.

360 is Great! Apr 18, 2009 Great hot/cold cup. Keeps hot liquid hot enough to enjoy for hours. Cold drinks, too. Drink from any place on the lip.
