You waited for the grapes to grow, can't you wait for the wine to chill? Oct 29, 2009 I've owned this product for a couple years now and I really like it. I got it as a gift and chuckled when I saw it because I didn't think it would work. Yes, it does take time for a room temperature bottle of wine to go down to 40 degrees, but lets be realistic (I know that's a lot to ask in an instant gratification society), this is not a refrigerator. It uses a Peltier which cools/heats by radiant transfer. An analogy would be a hot water radiator as opposed to a forced air furnace. They're both effective and effect temperature but one takes considerably longer to do so.
Bottom line; this product works, and it does what is says it will. It chills or warms wine. My suggestion if you're drinking wine that is served very cold is to put it in the refrigerator or freezer for 20 mins before putting it in the chiller. This gives you the "speed" chilling so many people are expecting but also allows the machine to "finish it off" to the correct temperature. For my wife and I it's worth it to not have to deal with an ice bucket or worry about water rings. If you're concerning yourself with a few degrees of accuracy, you have too much time on your hands.
Alternatively, if you're seeking instant gratification and just can't wait...park the wine and have a shot!

Looks better then it works Aug 14, 2009 Out of the box the Waring Pro Wine Chiller seems to be a home run purchase. It's sleek, innovative and easy to use. Unfortunately it doesn't really work all that well.
If your looking for a cool looking product that will keep your *already* chilled wine cool then this works great! (without the mess of using ice) However, taking a room temperature bottle of wine and trying to get it the temperature needed is close to impossible.
Pros: Looks great
Keeps a cold bottle of wine cold without an ice bucket
Quiet
Cons: Does not chill a room temperature bottle of wine
Power cord is bulky
LCD can be a little hard to read at times
Great Product for the money Sep 09, 2008 The electronic wine library gets each varietal to its perfect serving temperature with ease. If you have 15-20 minutes before you want to drink then this unit works great.
Loud, slow, and not terribly effective at what you bought it for Jun 24, 2008 Other than that, what's there to complain about?
The new version of the product has a plastic sleeve that gives a more accurate temperature reading but why care when it takes all day to chill the bottle of white? It is unbelievably noisy when operating and couldn't possibly be used any place you want to have a conversation. If you put your white wine in the refrigerator to bring it close to serving temp and then put it in the chiller it might work to your advantage (the unit won't be on very long) but this thing is not worth whatever you're going to pay for it. BTW, there's now a 2-bottle version. It doesn't work any better.

Like it cold Feb 29, 2008 We like the wine chiller as we no longer need to mess with bags of ice to have our white wines chilled throughout an entire evening. You can hear the fan as the chiller is working, but is quiet enough that a little soft music in the background or conversation covers any occasional "whir".
