Absolute Garbage Aug 23, 2009 I used this blender for the first time and it worked just fine. I went to use it the second time and it plainly wouldn't blend anything. Wouldn't crush ice, wouldn't pull the ingredients down for mixing as advertised - nothing. The blades spun like crazy, the blender made a whole lot of noise, yet nothing was happening. I tried taking it apart and putting it back together, thinking I had done something wrong after washing the parts, but that didn't change anything. Finally I had to blend 1-2 ingredients separately, several times each, then mix them all together and blend again before I was able to have a smoothie. 15 minutes of work for something that should take only seconds? This blender is absolute garbage.
From the other negative reviews it sounds like this was bound to happen sooner or later. I suppose I should be thankful that it happened sooner - i.e. within Target's return window.
Get this over a Vitamix or Blendtec. Jun 17, 2009 I'm into raw foods. I have Blendtec blenders, the big 20 amp models, and I like the Oster Fusion the best. I can put the glass container in the dishwasher, new blades are under $10 if I need them, and the blades fit on a mason jar if I want to make small quantities of something. The reversing blades are awesome. Salsa comes out chunky and red, not thin and pink foam like other blenders. I'm selling my Blendtecs on Ebay.

Great blender, bar none! Jan 27, 2009 This blender was purchased to replace a Cuisanart that had the jar accidentally broken. The reviews listed here helped me select this blender over all of the others, and I have not been disappointed. One review said that this Oster was loud, but compared to my Cuisanart, this one is quieter. The Oster also blends far better, is easier to see into, and cleans up far easier than the Cuisanart. I couldn't be happier!

Quit working after one year. Nov 05, 2008 Like others have said, this blender just randomly dies and will not even turn on anymore. For me it happened just after the one year mark so no warranty return for me. And I used it maybe once a week at the most. Mine was a gift and I wish I would have read the reviews before I opened it. Too late now...

Not your old reliable Oster Aug 31, 2008 I've had two or three reliable Oster blenders in 30+ years, and this one was a piece of junk. I blended a smoothie, and it would not shut off, so I had to pull the plug. When I plugged it back in, it wouldn't turn on.
This didn't seem to have the power of a 1,000 watt blender, as noted on the box. I wasn't surprised to see 600 watts marked on the bottom of the blender. Don't they call that false advertising?
