 Gets too hot Oct 01, 2009
This unit is not great for a single cup of coffee. It will burn a normal cup of coffee in about 30 minutes. If you forget and leave it on it will quickly leave a thin film of burnt coffee on the top. It is better for a small pot of coffee than a cup of coffee. It would be better if if had three settings; one for low, medium or high.

This does a great job at heating up what I'm drinking, much better than any other warmer I've tried. I can even put something that is cold on it and it will heat it up.
As has been pointed out elsewhere, the one thing that would make this even better would be some sort of shutoff or temperature control.

it's called a "decanter warmer" because the warming area is large enough to accommodate a carafe (e.g, 8 cup) - but it works fantastically well with single mugs. In fact, it's the only thing I've found that does a good job keeping a mug of coffee piping hot, and I've been looking for years (I've tried several so-called mug warmers that couldn't even keep coffee lukewarm). Highly recommended!

I bought this for my mother because she hates drinking cold water. She wanted something that would quickly warm a cup of water for her without too much mess. I've been searching around and landed on this product. Although this warmer is meant for use with coffee pots , it does a awesome job with just glass cups as well. I would say it takes roughly 10-15 minutes to warm a glass of room temperature water. Yes, I know some might think it weird for us to use this as a water heater but my mother loves this product!

I should have known I would like this product! I was first introduced to the Bunn warmer at my hospital. It was often used to keep water hot enough to make tea (did an excellent job). I ordered it for my boyfriend because he uses VERY large coffee cups--you want the base more than covered to really do a good job. He is very happy with the product. It keeps coffee/tea very hot, and the mug will also remain hot. If anything, it's too hot. If you like "warm" or "lukewarm" coffee---go with another brand! By the way...I am ordering one for myself because I like his so much!!
