$40-50 less for electricity bills. Dec 03, 2009 Really good!
I paid $40-50 less for electricity during hot summer months.
I recommend this fan for all single family houses.
Why pay more? Nov 12, 2009 Easy to install. Quiet operation. Working perfect. Excellent price. Glad I bought it here. Love it!
I installed this with the metal Home Depot vent, without the thermostat and used a digital timer (from Home Depot). I also wired the attic, replaced soffits and baffles and added 18 inches more of blown in fiberglass insulation.
Wow, I'm ready for winter and hoping for much lower heating bills.
Ventamatic does the job. Oct 11, 2009 I purchased two of the Ventamatic CX1500's one for each end of the attic. The price is right and they were shipped quickly. I wired them to work either on auto temp control or manual override. I can turn them both on and they operate as an inexpensive whole house fan moving lots of air out of the attic through door to the attic which cools the upstairs- provided there is cool air outside to pull in through the windows. They are made well enough. I used some 5/8" plywood and 2x6's to create a strong mounting frame that goes between the house wall studs over the gable vents and makes an air tight seal. I wouldn't recommend mounting these directly to the house because the frame and mount brackets are not stiff enough and you wouldn't get a good enough seal over a rectangular vent. They operate quietly with minimal vibration.
Simple and functional as reviews stated. Oct 08, 2009 I purchased three of these fans based on the reviews on Amazon. I have never installed any fans whatsoever and the reviews proved true, saying that they were simple and easy to install. It took about an hour and a half to install, three vents fans I purchased for a very large house. I used 2 x 4 between two wall studs to mount the fan on. I am pleased with the fans ease of installation and operation especially for the price.
Performs as Promised Sep 06, 2009 I'm not going to rave about the fan - it simply does what it is supposed to do in the way it's supposed to do it. It moves air and does it quietly and when it should.
An excellent value.
